Technology
The Slingshot™ is powered by a unique spring
machine which operates by applying over 40
tons of force to specially designed extension
springs.
This force is then transferred to the passenger
capsule via reduction pulleys and multiple
steel ropes.
Extensive engineering and research was involved
in the design of the Slingshot™. Safety being
a company priority with multiple redundant
systems utilised, including 2 steel ropes
from the spring machine to the passenger
capsule.
The power of the spring machine can be varied
with adjustments from a simple operating
panel.
This operating panel controls a computer
which senses spring tension and ensures every
rider whether light or heavy receives an
equal amount of thrust.
